Hinkley High School To Host Governor For Safe2Tell Bill Signing

Hinkley High School to host Governor for bill signing

Aurora Public Schools and Hinkley High School are pleased to host Governor John Hickenlooper for the signing of SB14-002 “Safe2Tell Program in Dept. of Law”.

     WHAT: Governor Hickenlooper signs SB-14-002
     WHEN: Wednesday, May 21, 9:30 a.m.
     WHERE: Hinkley High School 1250 Chambers Rd., Aurora

This bill incorporates Safe2Tell under the Colorado Office of the Attorney General. It also provides the necessary funding to ensure that the Safe2Tell reporting tip line, trainings, education and awareness efforts are available to Colorado students, schools, and communities.  Colorado legislators voted unanimously to pass this critical legislation, showing a bipartisan effort to create safer schools and communities.

Media may join Governor Hickenlooper, State Attorney General John Suthers, State Senate President Morgan Carroll, State Speaker of the House Mark Ferrandino, State Senator Bill Cadman and Hinkley High School for this momentous occasion.

Hinkley students will also be showcasing their Restorative Justice program that seeks to help students resolve conflicts on their own. The students will take part in a short role play after the bill signing.
