9/11 Tradition Continues at APS Schools

The tradition of honoring those who gave their lives on September 11, 2001 continues at Aurora Public Schools. Students at Century and Paris elementary schools will celebrate the lives of the everyday heroes who protect them and remember those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001.

The Daughters of the American Revolution are joining the Aurora Fire Department and the Aurora Police Department to bring the special ceremony to the schools. Each ceremony will include an impressive flag presentation, the Pledge of Allegiance and the National Anthem. Every student will hold a small American flag during the ceremony, donated by Graebel Companies.

Media are welcome to attend one of the special ceremonies at any of these APS locations:

  • 8:15 am – Century Elementary School, 2500 South Granby Way 80014
  • 10:15 am – Paris Elementary School, 1635 Paris Street 80011

A flag that was previously displayed at the state capitol will be given to the students at Century Elementary School by Senator Suzanne Williams.
