 Kids Roll into Camp

Dozens of children from all over the state are spending time at Aurora Central High School for the 29th Annual Colorado Junior Wheelchair Sports Camp. This special camp provides children who use wheelchairs the opportunity to enjoy a traditional camp experience not often available to them.

This camp introduces children in grades 1-12 to both recreational and competitive wheelchair sports. Adult wheelchair athletes and community volunteers provide instruction in various activities including archery, basketball, bowling, quad ruby, softball, swimming, tennis, road racing, track and field, bocce ball, theater movement and power soccer.

As a result of numerous contributors, donations, grants and volunteers, this sports camp is offered at no charge. The camp is organized by Colorado Sports for the Physically Challenged, Adaptive Adventures, and Aurora Central High School.

Interested media are encouraged to visit the camp on Tuesday, June 12 at 10 a.m. Please enter through the gym doors, located on the east side of Aurora Central High School.
