APS Partners with Aurora Police and The First Tee for Middle School Golf Tournament

Last fall, Aurora Public Schools entered a partnership with the Aurora Police Department and The First Tee to bring golf into two APS middle schools. Twice a week, Aurora Police and The First Tee representatives visited Mrachek and Columbia middle schools to provide golf instruction to sixth graders.

The students are now being rewarded for all their hard work with the chance to play in a golf tournament with Aurora Police Officers.

Colorado Open Golf Foundation has invited The First Tee program to their nine-hole learning course for a day of real golf and fun. The facility will provide a great environment for the students to apply what they have learned to a real game of golf.

There will be one officer paired with three students for the nine-hole tournament. There will be fun challenges for the students and plenty of prizes!
