Paris Elementary School was evacuated on November 16 due to a suspicious odor in the kitchen. The Aurora Fire Department promptly responded and determined it was best to keep the students out of the school until they could locate the source of the odor.

It was quite chilly at the time of the evacuation and several community partners responded. Rural Metro Ambulance picked up blankets from the Anschutz Medical Campus. Students stayed warm in the blankets before they boarded buses and were taken to North Middle School Health Sciences and Technology Campus.

The Aurora Fire Department discovered the cause of the odor was a leaking refrigerator unit. Students were bused back to Paris Elementary School a few hours later.
