APS KICKS OFF SCHOLARSHIP FUNDRAISER

The Aurora Public Schools Education Foundation is launching a new fundraising campaign to help students turn their dreams of college into reality. The “Paving the Way to Success Campaign” enables staff, parents, alumni and community members to purchase commemorative, personalized engraved bricks and glass wall panels to raise funds for the APS Scholarship Fund.

APS will kick off the campaign at a grand opening celebration for the APS Professional Learning and Conference Center, located at 1st Avenue and Centretech Parkway. The bricks and glass panels will be installed at the center later this year. The center is a place where learning excellence and equity in instruction will be developed to increase student achievement and prepare students for college.

APS will award a $4,000 scholarship to one student from each high school beginning in spring 2011. Scholarships will be awarded on a competitive basis.

The campaign offers several purchase options:

  • 4”x8” brick – $100
  • 8”x8” brick – $250
  • Glass panels – $1,500/3 years; $2,500/permanent
  • Granite pavers – $3,000
