Aurora Public Schools Board of Education Executive Session

On Tuesday, September 1, 2015, the Aurora Public Schools Board of Education is expected to recess into executive session under the authority of C.R.S. 24-6-402(4)(b), to receive legal advice specifically related to the superintendent’s contract negotiations.

The executive session will be held immediately following the regularly scheduled board meeting in conference room A at Educational Services Center 4, 1085 Peoria Street, Aurora, CO 80011.

Four APS Schools Begin Universal Breakfast and Lunch Program

Four APS Schools Begin Universal Breakfast and Lunch Program

Boston K-8, Crawford Elementary, Kenton Elementary and Paris Elementary are participating in a Universal Breakfast and Lunch program for the 2015-2016 school year. Breakfast and lunch will be available to all students enrolled at these schools at no charge. All meals will be served to all students at no charge regardless of eligibility status.

Studies have shown that children who are not hungry perform better in school. By providing breakfast and lunch to all children at no charge, we are hoping to continue our efforts to provide the best learning environments possible for our students.

The school breakfast and lunch that we serve follows U.S. Department of Agriculture guidelines for healthy school meals. The Universal Meals Program cannot succeed without community support. Please encourage students to participate in school meal programs.

Aurora Public Schools Hosts Annual Back-To-School Kickoff

Aurora Public Schools Hosts Annual Back-To-School Kickoff

Aurora Public Schools cordially invites students and families to attend the eighth annual Back-to-School Kickoff.

Free immunizations will be available. We are asking families to bring shot records. We will host a backpack giveaway at school tables (while supplies last)! Students must be present to receive a backpack. Community partners will also meet with families and provide giveaways.

PLEASE NOTE: The Back-to-School Kickoff is exclusively for families of students attending Aurora Public Schools.

The first day of school for most students in grades 6-12 is Aug. 11. The first full day of classes for most students in grades 1-5 is Aug. 13. Preschool and kindergarten students will start school on Aug. 18. Please contact your child’s school regarding the exact start date.
